The Wilwood Street Performance FDL BB Front Brake Kit (Part #140-7675-D) is made for classic GM applications and brings notable technical improvements over stock brakes. This complete system features forged aluminium Dynalite callipers, which are lighter and stronger for improved pedal feel and reduced unsprung weight. The vented 12.19" rotors manage heat more efficiently, helping to limit brake fade during heavy use or repeated stops. The kit’s design supports proper calliper alignment and secure mounting with adjustable shims, and it uses robust hardware and torque values for reliable installation. All components are selected to ensure compatibility with factory master cylinders and ABS, maintaining original system operation while substantially increasing brake capacity and response.

INSTALLATION DETAILS
Installation is recommended for experienced installers familiar with disc brake systems. The process includes torquing wheel studs (77 ft-lb), packing bearings with high-temp grease, and securing rotor assemblies with proper torque and thread locker. Calliper brackets may require spindle modifications on some models, such as drilling, tapping, or enlarging holes. Callipers are centred using shims. Flexible stainless steel brake lines (not included) and adapter fittings are necessary; OEM hoses will not fit. Clearance between the calliper and the wheel must be checked (.080" minimum). Brake fluid should be DOT 3 or DOT 4, and Wilwood’s bedding process is required for new pads/rotors. Follow all torque requirements and check for safe operation.

- 1964-1966 Chevy II and Chevelle need spindle modifications
- Supports 5-lug 4.50 or 4.75 bolt patterns; verify fit with wheel style and provided diagrams
- Wheel spacers or hub shields may be needed for proper wheel seating, especially with stamped steel wheels
- Must use Wilwood-compatible steel adapter fittings and recommended stainless steel flex lines
- Some applications require minimal spindle trimming to allow calliper mounting
- Installer is responsible for verifying compatibility, proper hardware, and safe wheel/hub engagement
