CPP’s 6872FLK-OM Disc Brake Conversion Line Kit is designed for 1968–72 Chevrolet Chevelle and El Camino models equipped with a CPP power disc brake conversion. The kit connects the dual-reservoir master cylinder, frame-mounted proportioning valve, front caliper hoses and existing rear brake line.
Unlike systems that mount the proportioning valve beneath the master cylinder, this installation positions the valve on the inside of the driver-side frame rail. Because of the new valve location, the original front-to-rear brake line may require slight bending, trimming or re-flaring to make the connection.
Installation begins after the new master cylinder and brake booster have been mounted to the firewall. The proportioning valve is then attached to the frame rail, followed by the 3/16-inch front line and 1/4-inch rear line running from the master cylinder to the corresponding proportioning-valve ports. The short driver-side front line and front crossover line are connected to the caliper flex hoses and secured to the factory frame tabs with the supplied mounting clips.
After the rear brake line has been connected and any necessary modifications have been completed, all fittings and mounting hardware should be securely tightened. Before driving the vehicle, inspect the complete system and confirm that the hoses, calipers and brake lines cannot contact or bind against any steering or suspension components throughout their full range of movement.
