CPP FitRite ball joints and tie rod ends are modernized steering and suspension components designed for classic cars and trucks. Ball joints provide pivot points between the control arms and steering knuckles, while tie rod ends transfer steering movement through the steering linkage to help turn the wheels.

CPP FitRite components feature low-friction ball designs, improved dust-boot retention, and flanged lock nuts that provide greater thread engagement and a larger contact area than traditional castle nuts. They are designed to improve component fitment, steering response, smooth operation, and long-term reliability when rebuilding a factory front end or servicing a compatible CPP suspension or steering system.

CPP is continuing to modernize its ball joint and tie rod end product line. The updated components are designed to improve strength, provide smooth movement, and help protect critical steering and suspension connections from premature wear.

 

Low-Friction Ball Design: The internal ball design provides smooth, low-friction movement for consistent steering response and dependable suspension operation.

 

Improved Dust-Boot Retention: Depending on the application, updated components feature either a press-fit or wire-retained dust boot. These designs help keep the boot securely positioned while reducing the chance of dirt, moisture, and road debris entering the joint.

 

Flanged Lock Nut: The traditional castle nut and cotter key have been replaced with a modern flanged lock nut on updated applications. The new nut provides nearly twice the thread engagement along with a larger contact area.

The increased thread engagement helps the nut make greater contact with the ball-joint or tie-rod stud. The larger flange also distributes the clamping load across a wider surface.

Installation note: Some applications include an internal hex in the stud to help prevent it from turning while the lock nut is tightened. An Allen wrench is not included.
