1 1/8 Inch Front Sway Bar Kit for 1964–66 Mustang and 1963–65 Falcon, Ranchero, and Comet Applications Featuring Forged Spring Steel Construction, Greasable Brackets, and Grade 8 Hardware
The CPP549 front sway bar kit is designed to improve handling and reduce body roll on classic Ford applications including 1964–66 Mustang, 1963–65 Falcon, 1963–65 Ranchero, and 1963–65 Mercury Comet models. This sway bar is a redesigned and upgraded replacement for CPP’s earlier CP520 sway bar, offering improved materials, hardware, and long term serviceability.
Manufactured from forged solid spring steel, the 1 1/8 inch diameter sway bar is finished in a durable black powder coat for corrosion resistance and long lasting appearance. The increased bar diameter provides improved roll stiffness to help reduce body lean and improve cornering stability while maintaining street friendly ride quality.
This kit includes PolyPlus performance bushings and heavy duty end links designed to deliver quiet operation and extended service life. The frame mounting brackets are greasable and feature integrated zerk fittings, allowing proper lubrication of the bushings to prevent squeaks and premature wear. All required Grade 8 plated mounting hardware and brackets are included for a complete bolt on installation.
The CPP549 sway bar supersedes commonly referenced Addco 549 & 520, offering upgraded construction, greasable frame brackets, and a complete Grade 8 hardware package. This makes it an ideal choice for classic Mustang, Falcon, Ranchero, and Comet builds seeking improved handling with modern component quality.
If your classic Ford leans hard in corners, feels unstable during lane changes, or simply doesn’t inspire confidence behind the wheel, it may be time for a handling upgrade. One of the easiest and most effective ways to dramatically improve cornering performance is with a larger front sway bar, and that’s exactly where the CPP549 Front Sway Bar Kit from Classic Performance Products comes in. Designed for classic Ford platforms including the 1964–66 Mustang, Falcon, Ranchero, and Comet, the CPP549 helps reduce body roll, improve steering response, and create a more stable driving experience without sacrificing street comfort.
