I have installed spindles CLP-5557SP-OE (1957 belair ) which I purchased form Summitt racing. My question is they came with flat steel rings,( one each ) what are those for? Thank you
The spacer included in stock replacement spindle #5557SP-OE is a spindle nut spacer used when the castle nut goes on too far and does not engage with the cotter pin. We make these spindle pins slightly longer that stock to aid with disc brake kit installations.
How much does a drop spindle lower your vehicle?
Our truck C10 drop spindles will lower you 2.5 inches while our car drop spindles will lower you 2 inches.
What are the benefits of using the X-10 spindle?
The biggest benefit to installing one of our X10 spindles is that it allows you to use our CPP sealed hub bearing which will give your vehicle a modern ride with larger roller tapered bearings.
How do I know if I need new spindles?
The spindle is designed for the bearings to ride on smoothly. If you hear any grinding or chattering as your tire rotates, it is time to replace the spindle.
