This front disc brake kit upgrades 1963 to 1970 Chevy 1/2 ton trucks with modern braking components and a 2.5 inch modular drop spindle for improved ride height and control. The modular spindle design lowers the vehicle while maintaining correct steering and suspension geometry, reducing the compromises often associated with traditional lowering techniques.
The system uses 12 inch vented rotors with drilled and slotted surfaces to improve cooling and braking consistency. Wilwood two piston calipers deliver strong, even braking performance and feature a black finish for a clean, understated appearance. Stainless steel brake hoses are included to improve pedal response and reduce brake line flex.
Due to the modular spindle design, the wheel mounting surface is positioned approximately 1/4 inch outward per side compared to the factory drum brake setup. This change slightly increases track width and should be factored into wheel and tire selection to ensure proper fender and suspension clearance.
This kit is designed for straightforward bolt on installation and works with stock suspension components, factory style master cylinders, and power brake systems. A minimum 15 inch wheel diameter is required.
