The Wilwood Street Performance DynaPro 6 (DP6) front brake kit is designed for classic American muscle cars and vintage street rods using traditional non-ABS spindles. It combines forged billet six-piston callipers with a 12.19” vented rotor, delivering an intermediate boost in brake capacity and consistent pad performance compared to stock or smaller piston setups. The six-piston design provides more even clamping and improved brake response, which is especially important when paired with suspension or tyre upgrades. The forged billet aluminium construction increases rigidity and reduces flex under braking. All mounting hardware, spacers, and shims are designed for precise adjustment and square fitment to the rotor. This kit is an option for those who want reliable, predictable braking with less pedal effort and better real-world heat management, especially on upgraded street and performance cars.

INSTALLATION DETAILS

This kit is made for installers who are experienced with disc brakes. It requires the full removal of the original brakes, possible light spindle modifications (on some drum-spindle cars), and the installation of the new hub, rotor, and calliper assembly using the supplied hardware. Proper bearing packing, calliper positioning, and careful use of shims are important for correct operation. Calliper brackets can be mounted on either the front or rear side of the spindle, as needed, to accommodate steering arm location. Original brake hoses do not fit; Wilwood braided lines with the correct fittings must be installed. All torque specifications and bedding procedures are detailed in the instructions. After install, check for wheel clearance using the provided diagram and perform standard test stops and pad/rotor bedding before street use. Wheel spacers may be necessary if wheel contact areas overhang the hub face.

FACTORY FIT NOTES

- Direct Fit: 1967-69 Camaro and 1967-74 Nova with disc or drum spindles.
- Modification Required: 1964-66 Chevy II and 1964-66 Chevelle require modifications when using original drum spindles.
- Spindle Type: 1967-72 Chevelle works with either disc or drum spindles.
- Brake Lines: OE lines do not fit; Wilwood lines with adapter fittings are required.
- Wheels: At least .080” clearance is needed between the calliper and wheel. The supplied hub supports 5 x 4.50 and 5 x 4.75 stud patterns.
- Other Notes: Some fasteners and spacers are specific for disc brake spindles. Always confirm the exact year/model for the best fit. Use a wheel clearance diagram and consider wheel spacers or hub shields if needed for certain wheel designs.
