The Wilwood 12.19" Forged Dynapro 6 Big Brake Front Brake Hub Kit (part #140-10740-D) is designed for American muscle cars and classic rods with traditional non-ABS spindles. By pairing forged billet Dynapro 6-piston callipers with large vented rotors, this kit improves stopping power and brake response over 4-piston setups, especially for heavier vehicles or those with upgraded wheels and tyres. The forged callipers resist flex and maintain consistent performance under hard braking, while the vented 12.19" rotors help manage heat and reduce brake fade during spirited use. This kit is built to match popular custom suspension and wheel upgrades, delivering real gains in braking control and reliability.

INSTALLATION DETAILS

Installation should be performed by someone experienced with disc brake systems. Remove the stock drum brakes, then fit the calliper brackets, hub, rotors, and callipers following the instructions. Use red Loctite® on all fasteners and torque to the specified settings. Only use braided steel brake lines and proper adapter fittings, as OEM rubber hoses are not compatible with Wilwood callipers. Confirm at least 0.080” caliper-to-wheel clearance, correct wheel stud pattern, and proper wheel/hub contact surfaces. After assembly, bleed the brake system fully and verify all connections before driving. Callipers must be mounted with the largest pistons trailing the direction of rotor rotation, and brake pads are installed with friction faces toward the rotors.

FITMENT & FACTORY FIT NOTES

This kit is compatible with 1962–72 CDP “B” & “E” Body models with original drum spindles only. Confirm spindle year and hub stud pattern before starting installation. Minor trimming of spindle ears may be required for clearance; remove as little as possible to keep mounting strength. Always check wheel clearance using the provided diagram—using aftermarket wheels or spacers may be necessary. Only use Wilwood-recommended flexible braided brake lines for correct and secure installation. If you have stamped steel wheels or overhanging wheel surfaces, specific spacers or shields may be required. Make sure wheels spin freely, check for leaks, and confirm pedal firmness before any road use.
