The Wilwood Forged Dynalite Big Brake FDLI Pro-Series Park Brake Kit (Part # 140-11348-D) brings rear disc brakes with an integrated parking brake to 1955-1957 Chevy and 1956 Corvette rear axles. This kit uses forged Dynalite four-piston callipers for reliable stopping power and 12.19” vented, drilled, and slotted rotors for efficient heat control under heavy use. The internal shoe parking brake system adds secure static holding without visible hardware changes. The kit supports 1/2" wheel studs for a stronger setup (replacing the OEM 7/16" studs), includes shims for model-year precision, and BP-10 compound pads for smooth, low-dust braking. Bolt-on installation and a factory-type fit make it suitable for street, strip, or show applications where braking safety and performance are priorities.

WHAT TO EXPECT WITH INSTALLATION

The kit includes major hardware but requires sourcing your own parking brake cable, hydraulic flex lines, and some fittings. Minor trimming of the factory-bearing retainer may be needed to fit the parking brake bracket. Use the provided shims for calliper alignment and torque the calliper/bracket bolts to 40 ft-lbs using Loctite 271. Brake and parking brake cables should be routed with gentle bends and secured. Wilwood callipers use a 1/8”-27 NPT inlet and are best paired with steel braided hoses. Bleed the brake system starting from the calliper farthest from the master cylinder and follow bedding procedures for pads and rotors.

IMPORTANT FITMENT NOTES

This kit bolts directly to 1955-57 Chevy and 1956 Corvette rear axle flanges. Wheels must allow clearance for the 12.19” rotor and calliper. Rotors are drilled for 1/2” wheel studs—the upgrade is needed if OEM studs are still 7/16”. Parking brake cables and hydraulic lines are not included; Wilwood’s P/N 330-9371 is a generic cable kit option. Always check the axle flange size, wheel offset, and fit before making a purchase.
